The raw material of carbon black is hydrocarbon compound ( mainly is petroleum derivative, like coal tar and anthracene oil) . Through incomplete combustion of the hydrocarbon, we got carbon black.

Production way of carbon black

In China, there are two popular production way of carbon black, one is Gas process and the other is Furnace process.

1、Gas process

It is improved process in China. The hydrocarbon compound ( soil or liquid ) turns to gas in Gasification equipment, and mix with inflammable gas ( natural gas or coal gas).  Through the cycle pipeline to fire room, and touch with fire at a thousand nozzles. The mix gas uncompleted combustion will come with black smoke, which will be carbon black after collection.  

2、Furnace process

The gas or liquid hydrocarbon compound or the mixture is the raw material, and heating the raw materials in the reacting furnace. By thermal oxidation at a high temperature(the carbon black quality can be controlled by quenching the flame) we got carbon black. After cooling down and filter system, the carbon black will be separated from the smokes.
